A Morkie is a hybrid cross breed between the Maltese and the Yorkshire Terrier. They are funny, sweet, loveable little balls of fluff! Morkies are just as happy snuggling with you as they are playing. They are very good natured, intelligent dogs that will make you laugh for hours. They are great family dogs and love people of all ages and other pets. Morkies are very brave and curious and don't realize how tiny they are. Morkies love to play. They learn very quickly and are always up for a game or a walk. They can live just as happily in an apartment as on a farm. They do need exercise or will get bored, but this can be accomplished with a 10-15 minute walk a couple of times per day or a half hour of playing fetch or tug of war around the house. They also have a high prey/drive instinct and may tear apart their toys or newspapers. They love to stalk and hunt bugs in the grass and chase leaves. They LOVE to please their humans and are very smart, so they learn tricks quickly. If properly cared for a Morkie with good genetics will live to be 15-20 years old. They are small dogs and usually weigh between 6-10lbs, although some may mature to be smaller or larger. Morkies have hair not fur, so they are hypoallergenic. Their hair grows quickly, so they need to be brushed daily and should be groomed every 4-6 weeks. Because we have invested in Exotic Yorkshire Terriers, our Morkies have Exotic coloring that you don't normally find in Morkies. We have had blue, brown and green eyed pups, with coat colorings like Extreme White, Golddust, Blonde, Red, Sable, Blueberry, Tri-color and other Partis. Why settle for ordinary, when you can have Exquisite?
